Franklin man found guilty of violent threats and disorderly conduct against former employer
A Franklin man, Jesse Lamont Jackson, has been found guilty of threats of violence and disorderly conduct against a former employer. According to the Redwood County Attorney’s Office, on Dec. 7, 2022 law enforcement received a 911 call reporting Jackson had threatened to kill and beat up two people at an area business. Court documents state Jackson had been fired from that business for being unreliable. Jackson had an outstanding bill with that business, and the amount had been taken from his final paycheck.
Names released in Fall River County double fatality crash
EDGEMONT, S.D. (KELO) — Two men were killed in a single-vehicle crash three miles south of Edgemont Wednesday. 55-year-old Michael S. Gembala of Edgemont, was driving a Ford F250 southbound on SD Hwy 471 when his vehicle ran off the roadway. The Ford F250 returned to the southbound lane, was over-corrected, went off the roadway again, down and embankment and rolled several times.
Bird Island residents injured in car/semi collision on Highway 212
Two residents of Bird Island were injured when their vehicle and a semi truck collided on Highway 212 on Friday. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on April 19, Laura Ann Berg, age 37, of Bird Island, was driving a Nissan Rogue westbound on Highway 212. Near Acorn Avenue in Mcleod County, she attempted to make a U-turn, and her vehicle was crashed into by a westbound Freightliner Cascadia, being driven by Charles Joseph Dzurenka, age 56, of Winsor, Conn.
Willmar man sentenced for vandalizing car, threatening owner
A Willmar man, Mario Bautista Jr., age 41, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for vandalizing a car and threatening its owner. According to court records, on Nov. 7, 2023, the Lower Sioux Police Force was patrolling the Jackpot Junction Casino parking lot when he noticed Bautista walking about talking to himself, and walking with poor balance. When asked if he was all right, Bautista yelled at the officer and began beating on a vehicle that did not belong to him. The owner of the vehicle was present, and Bautista threatened to kill him and his family.
