Sherman ISD removes suspended superintendent following 'Oklahoma!' controversy
Sherman ISD on Wednesday voted unanimously to remove its superintendent, who was suspended after a transgender student was removed from a production of "Oklahoma!" The Sherman ISD Board of Trustees held a special called meeting to approve a voluntary separation agreement with Superintendent Tyson Bennet, who was suspended March 5 with pay amid a third-party investigation into why the transgender student was stripped from his role in the play.
New principal named at Mayes Elementary in Denison
DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — Mayes Elementary School is getting a new principal. The Denison Independent School District announced that Grayson County native Martin Farrell has been hired. Farrell previously served as assistant principal at Rushing Middle School in Prosper, Texas.

Denison Police looking for leads in hit and run incident that left woman critically injured
DENISON, Texas (KXII) - “Just leave a woman laying in the middle of the road at night. It’s just, you know it was horrific,” said Denison resident Thomas Taylor. Saturday, around 11 pm, Denison Police responded to South Austin and Crawford for a report of a person lying in the middle of the roadway.
