Troy woman pleads guilty to theft and fraud charges
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A woman from Troy pleaded guilty on Friday in federal court in Bangor to social security fraud, health care fraud, and theft of public money. Court records say 49-year-old Christie Mitchell lied to the Social Security Administration and Maine DHHS about her husband’s presence in her household and his income for nearly seven years.

Woman dead in rollover crash that shut I-95 in Wells, Maine, police say
A woman was killed and a man seriously hurt in a pileup that temporarily shut one side of the Maine Turnpike Friday morning, police said. A car being driven by a man from Boston hit a minivan and a pickup truck in Wells at about 8:41 a.m., sending the truck rolling across the road, Interstate 95, Maine State Police said.

Late Penobscot Ice Arena owner Bishop honored with celebration of life
BREWER - Dozens gathered at the Penobscot Ice Arena on Saturday for late owner George Bishop's Celebration of Life. Bishop, who passed away in March aged 65, purchased the arena in 2013. At the time, the building was in a state of disrepair from the locker rooms, to the ice, to the insulation. Now, it is a go-to spot for local skaters. It would not be that way had it not been for Bishop's immediate efforts to turn things around.
