NYC swimmers seen cooling off inside public pool weeks before they are open for summer
Summer may not yet be hopping in NYC — but pool hoppers already are. A New York Post photographer caught two young men enjoying a pleasant dip in a public pool in Queens — even though city pools don’t open for three more weeks. The North 2 action returned to Ridge for another year of the North 2, Groups 1 & 4 sectionals and Day 1 saw big numbers laid down. On the boys side of things, Westfield holds the current lead in both the Group 4 boys and standings with West Side holding the lead for the boys in Group 1. Verona holds a big lead on the girls side of Group 1 after today’s action.

NEW JERSEY- The 41st Annual NJ Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics will once again run through Morris County. The Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains Police Departments as well as surrounding police departments will carry the torch. Every year, law enforcement officers in New Jersey exchange their uniforms for running gear as they carry the “Flame of Hope” throughout the Garden State into the Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games Opening Ceremony.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER After traveling more than 750 miles, this flame will eventually make its way to light the cauldron to signal the official start of the Summer Games, the largest competition event of the year. More than 3,000 officers take to the streets of their local communities on one of 26 separate routes to help carry the "Flame of Hope" a distance of nearly 750 miles throughout the Garden state to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey each year.
