Alonso, District 4, was elected unanimously to the position of Secretary/Treasurer for the organization. The GFCSB includes Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe, Collier, Charlotte, Pinellas, Manatee, Brevard, and St. Lucie school districts. This organization represents the interests of nearly 50 percent of the public school students in the state of Florida. Each year the GFCSB develops and adopts a consensus legislative platform and advocates those positions in Tallahassee.
