Lady Wildcats Season Ends With 3 to 1 Loss
The Brookeland Lady Wildcats softball team ended their season as a Regional Finalist when they lost game 2 of the best two out of three series with the Neches Lady Tigers 3 to 1 Saturday in Hudson. Brookeland lost game one on Friday by the score of 6 to 2. Neches which was a final four team last year needed seven full innings to eliminate Brookeland and secure their place in the UIL State Tournament.
Lady Cats Drop Game One- 6 -2
Game one of the best two out of three Regional Finals series between the Brookeland Lady Wildcats and the Neches Lady Tigers went to the Lady Tigers by the score of 6 to 2. The Lady Cats will try to extend the series to a third game when the two teams meet for game 2 on Saturday at noon.
Brookeland Season Ends In Extra Innings
The Brookeland Wildcats baseball season ended too soon as they lost to the Chester Yellowjackets 13 to 11 in a game that lasted 8 innings and over three hours. It was a heart breaking game as Brookeland and Chester are from the same district and Brookeland was the district champion and Chester was the runner up. Brookeland had defeated Chester twice already this season.
Neches Lady Tigers take Game One 6-2 over Brookeland
LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) — The Neches Lady Tigers are now just one win away from the 1A State Softball Tournament, after beating Brookeland 6-2 in Game One of the Regional Finals at Hudson High School in Lufkin. Game Two of this series will be at noon on Saturday, back at Hudson.
