Driver killed after crashing into a tree, catching fire in east Houston
HOUSTON – A driver is dead Thursday morning after authorities say they crashed their vehicle into a tree in east Houston, causing it to catch on fire. Details are limited, as it’s an active investigation, but police say the crash happened a little after 3:15 a.m. on Turning Basin off 610. That’s where the unidentified driver was heading northbound but for undisclosed reasons, officials say the driver left the roadway before hitting a tree.
