Lake Co. deputies find boom lift trailer stolen from Virginia
LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that the department helped recover property stolen from Virginia. On June 4 at 1:27 p.m., the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call from Fairfax, Virginia, detectives regarding a boom lift trailer stolen from their jurisdiction. The detectives said that the trailer had a GPS locator on it and appeared to be at a residence off Timberwolf Trail in Peacock Township, deputies said. Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to the residence and contacted the property owner. The property owner confirmed that he had purchased the trailer online and that he did have it at his residence, deputies said.
Strike halts work at over a dozen southeast Wisconsin construction sites
Hundreds of crane and heavy machine operators are on strike in southeast Wisconsin, halting work at more than a dozen construction sites in the region. Roughly 800 members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139 went on strike last Saturday for better pay. That’s caused work stoppages at construction sites in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, Washington and Ozaukee counties.
State begins Route 12 resurfacing projects
Construction season has opened with the Illinois Department of Transportation initiating work on U.S. Route 12, a state thoroughfare. With State Park Road deemed as the midway point, crews will head north to Route 31 and south to Route 120 simultaneously. The work will span both Lake and McHenry counties.

‘Don’t run’: Police department in Wisconsin takes two into custody after pursuit
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin are reminding people not to run from them after a police chase resulted in two arrests. The Pleasant Prairie Police Department posted on its Facebook page about a recent incident involving an armed carjacking suspect. Authorities say that the suspect started hitting other cars during a traffic pursuit.
