TAMPA, Fla. (WKBN) — A Youngstown man faces a potential 100-year federal prison sentence after a jury in the U.S. Middle District Court of Florida found him guilty of several robberies.

Richard Allen Randolph, 44, was convicted of three counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, three counts of brandishing a firearm and one count of discharging a firearm after a trial that took place between Jan. 27 and Feb. 26, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The robberies fall under the federal Hobbs Act.

Sentencing is set for July 30.

Randolph is accused of robbing four businesses in Tampa between Jan. 27 and Feb. 26, 2020. During the last robbery, a witness confronted Randolph and he fired two shots at the person. Investigators recovered a casing from a Beretta semiautomatic handgun and he was dubbed “The Beretta Bandit.”

Randolph was arrested after deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office found a pistol in his car during a July 2021 traffic stop and the person in the car had a gun that matched the gun used in the robberies.

The person told deputies he got the gun from Randolph, who was a co-worker. That led investigators to Randolph, the release said.
