Man shot & killed in Vermillion had history of violence
VERMILLION, SD (KELO) — Authorities have released the name of the man killed in Tuesday night’s shooting in Vermillion. Police say 38-year-old Chase Kinchen violated a protection order by forcing his way into a home armed with a handgun and threatening the two people inside. He was shot and killed by a guest in the home, in an apparent act of self-defense.

USD names new CEO of alumni association
VERMILLION, S.D.–The University of South Dakota has named a 2010 graduate to be the newest president and CEO of the USD Foundation and Alumni Association. Noah Shepard holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from USD, and was a quarterback on the Coyotes football team from 2005 to 2009.
