Seasonably warm weekend ahead in Northern California, much cooler than last weekend
SACRAMENTO, Calif — After a hot Wednesday, Thursday will kick off a cooling trend lasting through the weekend. Downtown Sacramento reached 90 degrees Wednesday, lower than the forecast high temperature. This was due to relatively cool, moist winds blowing in from the delta moderating temperatures in the Sacramento area. Further north, away from the delta influence, temperatures rose into the upper 90s but the first 100 degree valley temperatures will have to wait.
Paradise Animal Shelter gets green light for expansion project
PARADISE, Calif. - A major expansion for the Paradise Animal Shelter got the green light and the money it needs at the Paradise Town Council meeting on Tuesday night. The shelter was built in the 1980s and has not changed much. Animal Control Officer Mollie St. John works with the dogs and cats daily and is ready to get the ball rolling.
Town of Paradise waste fee increase
PARADISE, Calif. - If you live on the Paradise Ridge, you’ll soon see changes in your bill for waste service. At Tuesday’s meeting, the Paradise town council voted to increase rates for waste services gradually over the next several years. Paradise is tackling the statewide requirement of SB 1383. The bill requires every jurisdiction to collect food scraps out of the garbage and green waste streams.
