A system to bring wet and windy conditions Monday as temperatures stay cool
After a quite warm start to September overall, we finally got to enjoy some fall conditions over the weekend. Sunday felt most like early fall, with highs for all staying in the 60s and plenty of sunshine to enjoy these conditions with. Overnight was quite chilly too, with plenty of spots dipping near if not below freezing thanks to a high-pressure system. This high-pressure system won’t stick around for long as a storm system is going to bring more needed rain later in the day. The first showers will arrive by early this afternoon, with the bulk of the rain pushing through later this afternoon and evening before clearing through the night. Generally, we can expect much of the Northland to see 0.5” to 0.75”, with over an inch possible in spots. As there can be a few embedded thunderstorms bringing locally heavier amounts, there is a marginal risk for excessive rainfall.
