HARTLAND, Vt. — Police in a New England state are investigating after someone broke into a home, ate a meal, and slept before leaving, authorities said. Vermont State Police said the burglary happened between May 9 and May 16 and that someone entered a locked home on Route 5 in Hartland.
Bethel officials says new fire truck won't be available for nearly 3 years following March crash
BETHEL, Vt. — In March, an unoccupied Bethel fire engines was involved in a crash with a Vermont State Police trooper along Interstate 89. While a recent update from the Vermont Troopers' Association has said that the trooper involved is making some progress in his recovery, fire officials are now working to figure out how to replace the vital piece of machinery.
VSP: Driver in fatal crash in April on Route 100 charged with involuntary manslaughter

The Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed an additional charge of involuntary manslaughter against Satnam Singh, 24, of Brampton, Ontario, arising from this incident. Driver cited for doing 111 mph on Interstate 91 in Hartland
HARTLAND — A man from Avon, Indiana, was cited for excessive speed early this morning after Vermont State Police clocked his vehicle traveling at 111 mph on Interstate 91. During a speed enforcement operation around 1:26 a.m., state troopers detected a vehicle significantly exceeding the 65 mph speed limit.
Juvenile detained after disturbances in Strafford area
STRAFFORD — Early morning disturbances on May 18 led to the temporary escape and subsequent detention of a juvenile involved in various incidents in the Strafford area. Vermont State Police Troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded at about 4:53 a.m. to reports of an individual searching through unlocked vehicles near Coburns’ General Store.
