1 killed in I-55 crash in Woodridge

One person was killed in a crash on I-55 involving an SUV and a motorcycle Tuesday morning, Illinois State Police said.

Police said a motorcycle was on the I-355 southbound ramp to the I-55 northbound lanes when it crashed and landed on the northbound lanes of I-55.

The motorcycle driver was ejected and landed on the southbound lanes, police said. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

An SUV traveling in the northbound lanes then crashed into the motorcycle, causing the SUV to rollover, police said.

Authorities have not released the identity of the motorcycle driver. No other injuries were reported.

Police are also investigating a separate crash on I-55 between I-355 and Lemont Road, involving a semi-truck and at least three other cars. Police closed lanes in both directions as they investigate the crashes and they have since reopened to traffic.
