WWII veteran celebrates 103rd birthday at Camden Yards
BALTIMORE -- World War II veteran Billy Keys is celebrating his 103rd birthday at Camden Yards.For Keys, Memorial Day is a day of remembrance."We lost a lot of guys," said Keys, a World War II veteran.We first met Billy in 2020 on his 100th birthday."That's the Black Panthers, the 761st tank outfit in the second world war," he said.This Memorial Day is also a day of celebration for Billy. Earlier this month, he turned 103 years old."I don't know if it's any secret or not. I have used my time up drinking, I used that time up. I used my other time up with women," Keys joked.Now it's time for Billy to be celebrated."It's amazing to think about ever being 100 years old. To be able to still get out, enjoy yourself, come to the ballgame, honor the people that you have known through the years, especially through his military career, just simply amazing," Trautman said.And Billy has a plan to make it to 104."We're just going to reproduce what we did at 102, 101 to 104," Keys said.
