Beloved Manette neighborhood restaurant closes after 25 years
Stephanie and Bob Gleason arrived early on Friday to enjoy dinner at La Fermata, the 25-year-old institution in Bremerton's Manette neighborhood. Typically a place the Gleasons visit once a year to celebrate their March 28 wedding anniversary, La Fermata on Friday was the latest of several recent visits by the pair. Stephanie saw an appetizer with clams on executive chef Sam Schicker's menu that looked good, but instead ordered her favorite salad and then asked her server if the appetizer could be turned into her entrée.
