Local students participate in music festival

The North Carolina Federation of Junior Music Clubs (NCFMC) in Winston-Salem held its festival at Wake Forest University on March 9.

The Fantasia Junior Music Club, students of Tammy S. Prevette, participated in various musical events. Students performed in hymn playing, piano solo, and vocal -musical theater events.

Receiving superior ratings in piano hymns events were: Jacob Anderson, primary C; Benita Martin, primary B; Autumn Whitley, primary E, and Dylan Zamudio, primary E.

Receiving excellent ratings in the piano hymn events were: Colton Mahan, primary C; Hope Sebastian, primary D; Sumner Sikes, primary E, and Tybee Sikes, class II.

Students receiving superior ratings in the piano solo events were: Jacob Anderson, primary II; Bekka Collins, elementary II; Zaida Garcia, elementary II; Colton Mahan, primary III; Hope Sebastian, primary II; Autumn Whitley, Elementary I, and Dylan Zamudio, elementary III.

Receiving excellent ratings in the piano solo events were: Sumner Sikes, elementary II and Tybee Sikes, elementary IV.

Receiving superior ratings in vocal solo- musical theater event was: Zaida Garcia, elementary III.
