Trempealeau man injured after being hit by train
TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A 74-year-old man in Trempealeau County is hurt after being hit by a train. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office says they got a call from BNSF Railway yesterday afternoon (5/13/24) that one of its trains had hit a person in the Trempealeau Wildlife Refuge. The man from the town of Trempealeau was found nearby in the bushes with a broken arm. His family had reported him missing less than an hour earlier after they couldn’t find him for a few hours. He was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Semi blamed for crash that closed Highway 14 west of Winona
WINONA COUNTY, Minn. – An overturned semi has closed U.S. Highway 14 west of Winona. The Minnesota State Patrol says Jordan Patrick Kleist, 23 of Houston, was driving a 2010 Peterbuilt semi west on Highway 14 when he lost control near mile marker 253, rolled the semi onto its side, and went into the south ditch.
