NATCHITOCHES, La (KALB) - Law enforcement from across Natchitoches gathered in support of the La. Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run on May 15. Before the run, representatives from NPSO, NPD, La. State Probation & Parole and Northwestern State University Police Office held a prayer service to honor fallen law enforcement, said the Pledge of Allegiance and lit the ‘Flame of Hope’.
Chatham woman dies in Mother’s Day crash
HODGE, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that killed Renalda Harland, 38, of Chatham on Sunday, May 12, around 7 p.m. LSP Troop F says Harland was driving east on La. 542 when she hit a tree that had fallen across both lanes. Harland was wearing her seatbelt, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Two juveniles were also in the car and wearing seatbelts, and they were treated for moderate injuries at a local hospital.
