First Alert Weather: Breezy and dry conditions lead to a fire spread threat

Unseasonably mild conditions continue for one more day. Behind a cold front that will likely clear CT dry around daybreak tomorrow, the wind shifts to out of the northwest. Given our recent dry stretch, with even lower relative humidity tomorrow in tandem with gusts between 20 and 30 mph... there is concern that if a fire were to start it could rapidly spread. Provided these conditions, it would be a good idea to hold off on any outdoor burning. For Saturday, Halloween, the wind will be calmer and we’ll see abundant sunshine as high pressure builds over the region. Also, it will be seasonable ... great for trick-or-treating as temps drop through the 50s after sunset. Sunday starts on a chillier (frosty) note, then will be milder during the afternoon (compared to Saturday). Beyond the weekend, the dry stretch continues and we’re anticipating temperatures to return to unseasonably mild levels!
