LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — High school athletes compete all for a chance to travel to the University of Kentucky’s campus and compete for a state championship. Kroger Field in the fall, Rupp Arena in the winter, and now Kentucky Proud Park and John Cropp Stadium in the spring.

WASHINGTON — Six Kentucky students took part in the first round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee Tuesday, and two have advanced to compete in Wednesday's quarterfinals. Lexington sixth-grader Oliviah Braun was knocked out after adding a second “l” in “eluate,” a chemistry term. Though she was disappointed, she said she was proud to be there.
