BELOIT — The 13U Beloit Football Academy Warriors tackle football team dropped a hard-fought 14-6 game to the top-ranked Milwaukee Ducks on Saturday at Heineke Stadium. The Wisconsin Brew City League game was tied 6-6 at halftime as Beloit’s Xavier Betts caught a touchdown pass. The Ducks took the lead in the second half and Beloit’s last possession ended at the visitors’ 10-yard line when time elapsed. “I’m so very proud of them,” said Jordon Carollo, the BFA President and a coach on the Warriors. “They actually understand football now and showed we can compete with the best in our division. It was an amazing game and I love seeing the growth.” An earlier meeting with the Ducks had ended in a lop-sided loss for the Warriors, but this one was a competitive, close game throughout. Eli Pinson had two interceptions to lead the Warriors’ defense. The BFA’s 11U and 12U teams were supposed to play as well on Saturday, but their opponents cancelled. This Saturday at 10 a.m., the 11U team will play the Janesville Panthers fifth and sixth graders at Heineke Stadium. The 13U Warriors will host the Milwaukee Steelers at 1 p.m. this Saturday.
