Jaxon Miller chased the winning run home with a triple in the bottom of the seventh inning, as Hammonton came from behind to beat Millville, 7-6, in Hammonton. The Thunderbolts (2-13) rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the top of the seventh, when they pushed four runs across, but the last word went to Hammonton, which climbed to 15-1 with its 15th straight win.

Our Lady of Mercy (7-5) took a 1-0 lead on Mackenzie Hyland’s RBI in the top of the fifth inning and got a well-pitched game from Emma Douglas, who allowed six hits in a complete-game and struck out nine.

One of the hottest teams in the state, Hammonton extended its winning streak to 14 in a row Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over host Cedar Creek in a Cape-Atlantic National showdown. The Blue Devils own a two-game lead in the division race.
Absegami softball continues breakout season with win over Williamstown
In 2021 and 2022, the Absegami High School softball team posted a combined 8-32 record. Last year, the Braves finished 12-12. On Thursday night, as Absegami honored the three seniors who began their careers with a four-win season, it matched last year’s win total, improving to 12-4 with a 4-3 win over a three-win Williamstown team that outside of one sloppy inning played much better than its record indicated.
