Williamson County Schools celebrate Class of 2023 graduations
The 2022-23 school year culminated with a celebration of the Class of 2023 across Williamson County last week as 11 schools held graduation ceremonies from May 25-27. According to a WCS news release, members of the Class of 2023 were offered a total of $211,291,224 in scholarships and a total of $106,863,025 was accepted as of June 1. Both numbers were self-reported by students.

Brian King Named WCS Assistant Superintendent of Operations
Superintendent Jason Golden announced the appointment of Brian King to the role of Assistant Superintendent of Operations on June 2. King has been a longtime leader in the Williamson County Schools technology department. He has worked for the district for the past 25 years and will replace Kevin Fortney, who will be retiring from WCS for a second time next month.

911 texting rolls out in Williamson County
A new “Text to 911” system has launched in Williamson County, giving users and 911 dispatchers new ways to report and respond to emergencies. The upgrade has been in the works for many months, and the service is now available to citizens in Franklin, Fairview, Nolensville, Thompson’s Station, and Spring Hill, including the portions of the city of Spring Hill which reside within Maury County.
