Adoptable Pets of the Week
Meet two of seven abandoned puppies four-to-six months old found out in Wilburn where they had been dumped. One died over the weekend, but to make matters worse this is only one group of puppies who have been abandoned. The other group came from Higden. As most people know the shelter is full and cannot take these puppies in, not only do they not have the room, they do not have the finances to take care of them. It is very expensive to save all these animals and keep our facility open as a no-kill shelter. We do have fosters keeping these babies safe and other fosters doing the same with the other group of puppies. They will be available for adoption within the next two to four weeks. But we need more fosters, adopters and monetary help in feeding, providing medical treatment. Please help us support the never ending abandoned puppies and kittens in our community. We just do not have the money needed for the number of dogs and kittens brought into the shelter. The only solution, is for people to take responsibility for their pets. Have them spay/neuter and remember getting a pet is a commitment you make for the life of that animal. To foster or adopt one of these puppies go to Heber springshumanesociety.com. We also need food and donations. Remember there is no room/food/medical at the inn for these two sets of puppies found over the weekend.
