WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A Wichita Falls woman who was on probation for driving drunk in a Walmart parking lot with her young kids in her car and her pants down is back in jail for numerous alleged violations, including repeated tests showing alcohol use.

Tamika Garrett was booked into the Wichita County Jail on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, and is being held without bond.

The district attorney’s office filed the motion to revoke her three-year probation, citing at least 11 instances where Garrett tested positive, admitted or was seen drinking alcohol or using marijuana.

Also in April 2023, Garrett was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

And, in May, she got a ticket for driving with no license, and four days later, a ticket for display of altered or fictitious license plate or registration.

The motion also alleged she failed to report to her probation officer for six months in 2023, failed to attend substance abuse programs for eight months, failed to attend a Victim Impact Program, failed to attend monthly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in 2022 and 2023, failed to have an ignition interlock installed on her car, and numerous other alleged violations.

In May 2020, she was arrested at the Walmart on Greenbriar when police found her in a parked car with the engine running. They said Garrett was in the front passenger seat with her pants down around her ankles and her children, ages 2 and 5, in the back seat.

Witnesses say she had driven over a sign and continued driving around the parking lot.

Authorities asked Garrett to turn off the car and put the keys on the dashboard, but she tossed the keys out. Officers said Garrett claimed her husband had been driving the car and was inside shopping, despite witnesses telling police Garrett was behind the wheel and there was no other adult in the car.

Garrett’s husband also arrived at the scene and denied driving and told officers his wife had been drinking a brown liquor earlier.

Officers said when Garrett got out, she kept falling against the side of the car. They attempted a field sobriety test but said she could not stay on her feet

Garrett was supposed to plead in October 2021 but did not show up and was rearrested in early April 2022, pleaded guilty and was placed on three years probation.

In April 2023, she was back in jail on several driving violations including no driver’s license and leaving the scene of an accident.
