Christiana Creek bridge set for replacement
ELKHART — The North Main Street bridge directly south of Wellfield Botanic Gardens is slated for replacement due to its crumbling condition. The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners on Monday voted to appropriate $2 million from the bridge fund in preparation for putting the project out for bids. Bridge No. 361 carries North Main Street over Christiana Creek.

Water level restored after overnight drop
ELKHART — The water level on the Upper St. Joseph River has returned to normal summer pool depth after unexpectedly dropping overnight by 6 inches. Indiana Michigan (I&M) attributed the drop to “lower than normal inflows” and a recent lack of rain.
