Oglebay kicks off Memorial Day weekend with their 3 rd Annual Backyard BBQ Festival.

Festival goers could explore an array barbeque booths, check out the kids zone full of bouncy houses and balloons, or listen to live music featuring multiple artists throughout the day.

Rodney Haley, executive vice president of operations, says this is a yearlong project that he is excited to see come together this weekend.

“It is a pride of the parks just being able to do this for our community, being able to do it for Wheeling and the vicinity and there’s no charge for any of this. All of the entertainment, all that is free. Come up and participate with the vendors and get some food.”

Rodney Atkins and Frankie Ballard will perform at 7:30 pm tonight at Camp Russel in Oglebay Park, tickets are 45 dollars per person.

The fun will continue through Sunday with fireworks closing out the weekend in honor of the veterans who gave their life serving this country.
