WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — “We’re on the road to losing America.”

That’s what West Virginia Governor Jim Justice told a group of coal workers in Wheeling this week regarding the Biden Administration.

In a sitdown with 7News, he elaborated that he sees its policies as quote “haywire,” and that’s why he’s running for U.S. Senate.

The two-term leader of the state says he doesn’t agree with current policy on the economy, crime, the southern border or foreign affairs.

Justice says going to D.C. was never a goal for him, but he feels as though his number has been called.

“I’ve never taken one thing for me as your governor, and I don’t want anything. What I want is goodness for Toby and Edith out there. I want goodness for this country because I really believe in this country. And I think it’s a crying pitiful shame where we are.”

He will compete for current Senator Joe Manchin’s seat along with Republican Congressman Alex Mooney, who criticizes Justice as a fiscal liberal.

Justice’s run has received the endorsement of former President Trump.
