Slight Risk for severe weather returns Wednesday

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – The Storm Prediction Center has outlined the Ohio Valley within a Slight risk (2/5) for severe weather Wednesday evening.

Rounds of light to steady rain showers will move through during the afternoon along an advancing warm front.

A cold front will swing through during the evening hours, allowing thunderstorms to develop west of I-77. Storms will cross over I-77 around 7 p.m. and will clear out around 10 p.m.

PRIMARY CONCERNS

All impacts will be in play this evening, with cloud-to-ground lightning, heavy downpours small hail, and damaging winds being possible. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for the WTRF Coverage area.

The watch will expire at 12 a.m. Thursday or cancelled earlier as needed.
