Many people think that Cheer is not a sport, but that is not true. Cheer is not only a sport, but it is also a challenge of your strength and stamina. One example of that is cheer competitions. The difference between competition and cheering on the sideline is, when a person is on the sideline, they do a couple of cheers and stunts and get a break in between, but when a person goes to a competition, they are doing a whole routine for three plus minutes with no break. That includes dancing, lifting flyers into the air, and tumbling.
Xtreme Midgets Weekend Duel in Kansas
HUMBOLDT, KS – The Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota returns to competition this weekend with a doubleheader in Kansas, Friday and Saturday night. A visit to the banked 1/4-mile oval of Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, KS will kick things off on Friday, May 10, featuring a $4,000-to-win main event. Pit gates are set to open at 4 p.m. CT and grandstand gates at 6 p.m. Hot Laps and Qualifying will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Good Kids - Burlington’s Wildcats Care
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - We’re highlighting the Burlington High School ‘Wildcats Care’ program in Good Kids this week. ‘Wildcats Care’ is a group of 17 students in Burlington who look out for each other, and for their peers. The group stocks hygiene products at both Burlington High School and Middle School for any student who has a need.
Coffey Health System names new leader after CEO resigns
Burlington, Kan.-based Coffey Health System has named Stacy Augustyn, MSN, RN, its CEO, effective Aug. 1, after Joben Rieth, RN, tendered his resignation April 15. Mr. Rieth will work with Ms. Augustyn to transition the role this summer. He will remain CEO until the transition is complete, according to a health system LinkedIn post.
