Woman arrested for threatening people with a handgun near the Yakima River Bridge

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - Authorities arrested a woman Friday after people reported she threatened them with a gun.

It happened in the area of the Yakima River Bridge in West Richland. Officers with the West Richland Police Department, Richland Police Department and deputies with the Benton County Sheriff's Office were called after a group of people, including two children, and a small dog, reported a woman pointed a gun at them and threatened them.

When authorities got to the scene, they said the woman tried to walk away, but they arrested her. She was taken to jail on suspicion of five counts of assault.

What led up to the two parties interacting with one another is still not yet known.
