Archer County Sheriff Jack Curd identified the man as 31-year-old Marco Anthony Portillo Jr. from Weslaco, Texas.

Portillo was working with the Windthorst II Wind Project owned by EDF Renewables and was climbing inside the turbine at the time of the fall.

At this time, it is still not known what caused Portillo to fall or the height from which he fell.

Multiple agencies responded to the original incident on Wednesday, April 24, including the Archer County Sheriff’s Office, Air Evac, AMR and emergency responders from Windthorst.

An Archer County Justice of the Peace responded to the scene and pronounced Portillo deceased.

We will have more on this incident during our KFDX 3 News at 6 and online.
