Intoxicated woman jailed after dialing 911 to report boyfriend’s abuse
An intoxicated woman was arrested after dialing 911 to complain about her boyfriend’s abuse. Deputies responded Wednesday morning to a mobile home in Summerfield where they found 60-year-old Lisa Doreen Pescherine, who was “highly intoxicated,” according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She complained her boyfriend has been “physically abusive” to her in the past.
Homeless man found inhaling from aerosol can at National Pain Institute
A homeless man was arrested after he was found inhaling a substance from an aerosol can at the National Pain Institute in Lady Lake. A deputy went to the office at 13945 U.S. Hwy. 441 about 8:30 p.m. Thursday to investigate a report of a suspicious person, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Notorious local hit-and-run drivers could wind up at same prison
Two notorious local hit-and-run drivers could wind up at the same prison. Tara Rene Schiessle, 32, of Lady Lake, was turned over this week to the Florida Department of Corrections. She had been lodged at the Lake County Jail since April 29, the day in which she pleaded no contest to charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving death and leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury. The former Lake Centre for Rehab physical therapist assistant has been sentenced to three years in state prison to be followed by three years of probation. Court records indicate the prosecutor’s office waived a four-year minimum mandatory sentence as part of the plea deal. A charge of insurance fraud was also dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
