Randy Orton Comments On Working A Full-Time WWE Schedule & Reveals How Much Longer He Wants To Wrestle For
Randy Orton returned to WWE at last November’s Survivor Series premium live event after more than 550 days away due to injury. Yet, while CM Punk’s surprise return greatly overshadowed his comeback, he still delighted fans by looking better than ever. And now, during a recent interview with Adam’s Apple, he has revealed he can see himself wrestling until he is 50, which is six years away, noting he wants to remain a full-time guy. After spending two decades at the pinnacle of the business, 44-year-old Orton is considered a pro wrestling legend by many. Notably, he has held a version of the world championship 14 times during this time, making him the third most recognized world champion in WWE history. Therefore, his triumphant return to WWE was a massive positive for the company, and it will now be intriguing to see if he can break John Cena and Ric Flair’s record of 16 world championships, given he has time on his side.
Legendary Producer Steve Albini Passes Away At 61
Producer and recording engineer Steve Albini, the man instrumental in albums by Nirvana, Bush, Flogging Molly, Pixies, the Jesus Lizard, Helmet, The Breeders and several thousand more, has died of a heart attack. He was 61 years old. Albini was legendary in that he refused to take future royalties from bands for the work he did instead taking a flat rate for each album. “A lot of people making records don’t have a grasp of the process,” he previously told Billboard. “They do it thinking that it’s some abstract art form that doesn’t need to be comprehended on a technical...
Update On What Could Be Next For Gable Steveson Following His WWE Release
Gable Steveson was a controversial signing for WWE due to the weighty allegations made against him back in 2019. Still, with many expecting the Olympic gold medalist to be a combination of the next Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle in the ring, the company decided any backlash was worth recruiting him in 2021. And while he would be given opportunities to prove himself, he failed to live up to expectations and was subsequently released last week, with his big-money contract and lack of progression the driving factor. However, it isn’t all doom and gloom for the two-time NCAA heavyweight champion, as while he has missed...
Popular AEW Commentator Reveals Why He Will Miss This Week’s Dynamite Taping
Last week, former ECW and WWE wrestler Taz revealed on social media that he sadly needs his shoulders and knees replaced. And while he added that he is putting this off for as long as possible, he has now disclosed on X that he will miss this week’s episode of Dynamite because he cannot travel following some recent treatment. Still, he will ease fans’ minds by confirming he’ll be back next week. 56-year-old Taz retired from the ring 2002, although they would have a one-off match in 2006 against Jerry Lawler that lasted less than a minute. Subsequently, he became a color commentator for WWE and later TNA before taking a short break from the business and hosting a syndicated morning radio show. Still, with pro wrestling as his life’s true passion, he signed with AEW in 2019 and resumed announcer duties, in addition to leading his own faction known as Team Taz between 2020 and 2022.
Ric Flair Is Considering Legal Action Following Restaurant Incident & Reveals What He’ll Rename The Establishment
Ric Flair is again making headlines for all the wrong reasons, as he was booted out of a pizza restaurant this past weekend, with leaked CCTV footage seemingly revealing that he’d had a few too many drinks and became belligerent. However, Flair claimed there was an incident in the bathroom that made him angry and has now spoken to Gainesville.com, giving more information about this. Additionally, he revealed he is considering taking legal action against the establishment, noting he has enough money to buy the restaurant and would change its name to “Ric Flair’s Italian Bistro.” 75-year-old Ric Flair has been battling alcohol issues for much of his life, previously revealing at one point he would drink 20 alcoholic beverages a day. Still, after being diagnosed with alcoholic cardiomyopathy, it was hoped he would seriously reduce his intake, with doctors recommending complete abstinence. Yet it appears Flair either can’t or won’t do that, and thus, it is likely just a matter of time before there is another similar experience or even worse to report.
AC/DC’s Brian Johnson Offered Help To Huey Lewis
Though he’s retired from the touring stage due to hearing issues, Huey Lewis is as busy as ever. “The Heart of Rock and Roll” frontman is out promoting the new Broadway jukebox musical of the same name which features a huge catalog of Huey Lewis and the News tunes. Lewis also recently had a feature appearance in the Netflix documentary, “The Greatest Night in Pop.” Lewis has had countless hits over the years and had been touring regularly up until 2018 when he announced he had been diagnosed with Ménière’s disease and was no longer able to hear well enough to sing....
Former WWE Writer Fears Uncle Howdy’s Return Could Tarnish Bray Wyatt’s Legacy
WWE began teasing Uncle Howdy’s return at the conclusion of Peacock’s new Bray Wyatt documentary, “Becoming Immortal.” Since then, it’s also been reported that the masked character isn’t coming back alone, with Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, Dexster Lumis, and Joe Gacy also expected to feature in a new spooky stable. However, while fans are very enthusiastic about this, former WWE writer Vince Russo has expressed his concern during a recent podcast appearance, saying he doesn’t have faith in the WWE’s creative team to pull it off. The Uncle Howdy character, played by Wyatt’s real-life brother Bo Dallas, was taken off television shortly after Wyatt became ill. At the time, it was assumed he would return once Wyatt had recuperated; however, once news broke that Wyatt had tragically passed, most thought the gimmick and the entire Wyatt universe of characters had gone with him. Still, those who believed that were obviously wrong, and Wyatt’s legacy will soon get a chance to live on through his brethren.
Drake Wuertz Credits WWE With Saving His Life
Two months ago, former WWE referee Drake Wuertz, best known by his ring name Drake Younger, bravely announced on Instagram that he was checking into a rehabilitation facility. Precisely why he needed professional help wasn’t disclosed, although he stated he was doing it for his wife and five children and that he needed to be “the best version of me for them.“ And now, having successfully completed the treatment, he has returned to Instagram to credit WWE with saving his life, seemingly confirming they paid for the treatment. 39-year-old Wuertz retired from death match wrestling after signing with WWE in 2014 and looked set to have a long and successful career with the company. However, he was fired in 2021 following a series of incidents that saw him generate heat with management. These included missing an NXT taping due to arguing against children wearing masks at a school board meeting, using his WWE email address to organize activities for a conspiracy theory charity, and, most shockingly, even walking out of a speech Triple H was given about Black Lives Matter. However, he appears to have turned his life around, and hopefully, he can avoid any relapses.
Footage Of Ric Flair’s Restaurant Incident Has Been Released (w/Video)
75-year-old Ric Flair was again in the headlines this past weekend after he revealed on social media he had been kicked out of the Gainesville-based Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza restaurant following a disagreement. Subsequently, the restaurant’s co-owner issued a vague statement saying that upon reviewing the video, he was proud of how his staff dealt with the situation. And now, via @bussines11.11, the footage has been released, which shows an apparently inebriated Flair arguing with employees. This can be viewed for yourself below. The fact Flair continues to drink, considering he has a heart condition called alcoholic cardiomyopathy, is a surprise to many, with the 16-time world champion having revealed he previously drank 20 alcoholic beverages a day. And while he may have cut down from that peak, doctors recommend complete abstinence from alcohol use for those with this serious medical condition.
