Meet the U-Prep boys basketball players who give a literal meaning to brotherhood
Every coach wants their team to play like brothers. They strive to create an environment where players battle for each other on the court — one where players run to pick up a fallen teammate or pat someone on the back if they miss a shot. The goal for coaches is to turn teammates into friends, friends into brothers willing to put it all on the court, not for themselves, but for a greater goal. For University Prep head boys basketball coach Taylor Angley-Holman, that came a little easier with this 2025-26 Panthers varsity squad. Not only do the Panthers have a young team with experience playing together and building team chemistry, but they have two sets of literal brothers taking up a quarter of U-Prep’s 12-man roster. Meet senior Tayne Allman and his brother Shane. The pair played together at the end of last season when Shane, now a sophomore, was pulled up to varsity as a freshman. To start the new season, the Panthers added freshman Isaiah Pringle to join his older brother and senior captain Trey. U-Prep has a young, talented roster that has played together for some time now.
