University of Minnesota Extension is offering a series of maple syruping workshops across the state, one of which will be held in Wright County next month.

The workshop will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13 in Waverly.

This workshop is tailored to the syruping hobbyist. Whether you’re looking to get started or looking to fine-tune your syruping skills, this workshop is a great learning tool for small-scale enthusiasts.

Extension educators and farm hosts will lead participants through an educational session along with hands-on demonstrations.

Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the history of maple syrup, laws and regulations, techniques and equipment for extracting, and processing sap for sustainability. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and activities involved.

Register for the workshop at z.umn.edu/MapleSyrup2024.

Pre-registration is required, and the workshop will be capped at 20 participants.
