SHREVEPORT, La. (Arklatex Today) - Two award-winning artists are revealing a mural to inspire education and art at Shreve Memorial Library. On May 28, starting at 5 p.m., Caddo Parish Poet Laureate, Poetic X, and Shreveport artist Alex Richardson will reveal a collaborative mural at the Shreve Memorial Library’s Mooretown branch, 4360 Hollywood Avenue.
Hit and run drivers could face felonies
MARSHALL, Tx. - Law enforcement across the ArkLaTex is urging motorists involved in car accidents to stay at the scene and are cracking down on hit and run drivers. Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth wants to remind drivers they could face felony charges if caught leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury.
Greenwood Police: Man arrested for drunk, reckless driving with baby
GREENWOOD, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Greenwood police police arrested a man who allegedly endangered a 15-month-old while driving recklessly and drunk. Authorities said officers working traffic control at the Open Range Fellowship Rodeo Friday night spotted a vehicle doing burnouts on Hwy 80. When they stopped the suspect, police said there was a 15-month-old in the vehicle covered in alcoholic beverages. The child’s car seat was also reportedly covered in alcohol.
Late rally by PPC ends ETBU baseball’s chance for a win
MARSHALL, Texas — A late surge by no. 12 Pomona-Pitzer College became the difference in the game as no. 2 East Texas Baptist University fell in game one of the NCAA Division III Marshall, Texas Super Regional, 6-4. ETBU had a 3-1 lead through five innings before PPC scored five runs in the sixth and seventh innings to take the lead. ETBU is now 39-9 on the year.
