    2 men killed in overnight shootings in the District

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said two men were killed in two separate shootings that happened within hours of each other on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in Southeast D.C.

    The first shooting happened just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1900 block of 18th Street SE.

    Officers said a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Another shooting happened hours later at 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday in the Unit block of K Street SE. A man had walked in for help at a local hospital and was later pronounced dead, a spokeswoman for MPD said.

    Anyone with information regarding either shooting is asked to contact police.
