The Nor’easter has weakened, though the remnants will keep our region cool with showers on Monday. No significant impacts are expected.
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - The Nor’easter has moved inland over New Jersey and now is much weaker. Just a few showers are expected tonight. The center of the remnants, however, will be closer to our region on Monday with cloudy skies and showers likely, especially in central and southern parts of the region. With the recent dry conditions, this will be a beneficial rain with a quarter to half inch possible by Monday evening. Though no significant impacts are expected, you may want the umbrella and light jacket if you head outdoors. Highs will be rather cool in the 50s, though a few low 60s are possible.

Breezy with some showers over the weekend due to the Nor’easter, but the worst of it will be along the New England coast.
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - We’ll be watching the track of the powerful Nor’easter over the weekend, but it still looks like the worst of it will spare our region. For Saturday, northern parts of the region will be mostly cloudy. Southern sections will have showers, mainly during the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the 60s, though a few low 70s are possible near the Canadian border. As far as wind is concerned, Saturday will have the highest gusts of any day. Expect a north wind of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph. The western slopes of the Southern Green Mountains, however, may have gusts to 45 mph, especially during the afternoon and overnight hours. The coast along Massachusetts and Rhode Island could have gusts to 60 mph along with high surf and possible coastal flooding.

The Nor’easter will start to weaken today, but keep showers in our forecast into Tuesday morning. Little wind is expected.
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - So far, it’s been rather uneventful in our region as we’ve only been on the very outer fringes of the Nor’easter. It will be breezy at times today with perhaps some gusts to 25 mph, but that’s about it. There is, however, a Lake Wind Advisory in effect for Lake Champlain this morning. The wind will be north at 15 to 25 knots with waves 2 to 5 feet. The wind and waves will diminish/subside during the afternoon. Throughout the region, it will be cloudy with scattered showers, mainly south. It will be breezy, but nothing serious as the Nor’easter begins to weaken. Highs will be in the 50s to low 60s. If you plan to attend the Underhill Harvest Market, it’s a good idea to bring an umbrella and a light jacket.

Cooler for now, but a warming trend lies ahead of us

Clear skies Monday night will set us up for a chilly, potentially frosty start to Tuesday, with overnight lows dipping into the 30s.

Rain on Sunday, then a cool start to the week. Patchy frost and even a freeze are possible in parts of the region Monday night.
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Tonight will be chilly, but not as cold as last night. Lows will be in the 40s, but increasing clouds will put a cap on how cold it gets. These clouds are with a low pressure system to our southwest which will bring light rain to southern parts of the region by daybreak on Sunday. The rest of the day will be rainy, coming down moderately at times. This will be a beneficial rain with no significant impacts. However, it will be raw with highs in the 50s, so an umbrella and jacket are recommended if you plan to travel or be outdoors. A half inch or more of rain is possible by early evening. The rain will quickly move out during the evening with partly cloudy skies overnight.
