Billings Flying Service Receives FAA Restricted Type Certification for Surplus Netherlands Air Force CH-47D Chinook Helicopters
BILLINGS, MONTANA (March 18, 2025) - Billings Flying Service, Inc. (BFS) is pleased to announce it received FAA Restricted Category Type Certification for its surplus Boeing CH-47D Chinook helicopters this week. BFS acquired six CH-47D Chinooks from the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) in July 2023. Two of the aircraft have been added to the type certificate while the remainder are currently completing the certification process.

U.S. President Donald Trump has named U.S. Sen. Tim Sheehy, R-Montana, to the Board of Visitors of the U.S. Naval Academy. Trump announced appointments to the boards of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York and the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Monday.
