Caney man facing attempted murder charge for shooting at vehicle
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) – A Caney man is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge for allegedly shooting at a vehicle near Coffeyville over the weekend. Officers responded to a call regarding a shooting and a vehicle chasing another vehicle at US-166 and County Road 3500 around 8 p.m. Saturday. Montgomery County sheriff's deputies arrived on scene and spoke with an Oklahoma man who reported the shooting. The man told authorities that he was pursued by a black Dodge Challenger, and shots were fired at his vehicle, though he was not injured. He also gave a description of the Challenger, which was reportedly heading west.
One dead in Motorcycle crash in Southeast Kansas
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. — One man is dead after a motorcycle crash near Coffeyville, Saturday night. The Kansas Highway Patrol says it happened shortly before 8:00 p.m. A motorcycle, operated by Charles Morris, 50, of Coffeyville – was Eastbound on US 166, near County Road 5900 when he left the road and struck a culvert.
