Hundreds of semi-truck drivers compete in Missouri Truck Driving Championship in Branson
BRANSON, Mo. (KY3) - If you are in Branson this weekend, you’ll probably hear the roar of diesel engines coming from the Hilton Branson Convention Center on the Landing. It’s because of the 56th Missouri Truck Driving Championship that continues through Saturday. 200 professional drivers will take their experience from the road and put their skills to the test in an obstacle course over eight different classes of vehicles.
Donations sought for Hollister fireworks display
The City of Hollister is planning for an explosive good time at its 71st Annual Fireworks Show and is asking the community for help. Each year the city hosts its fireworks display, which is funded by donations. No taxpayer dollars are spent on the fireworks. With help from the community last year, the city was able to purchase the fireworks for this year’s show with donations only, according to a social media post. It was the second year in a row the feat was accomplished.

Man from Branson, Mo. killed in a shooting in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KY3) -The St. Louis Police Department is working with Branson Police after a deadly shooting. On Sunday morning, police were called to Washington and 16th Street in downtown for a man shot in the head. The St. Louis Police Commissioner says the victim was in his 50s, but his identity hasn’t been released.

Mothers of Famous Dave’s murder victims sue restaurant
The mothers of two Famous Dave’s employees who were murdered on May 29, 2021 in Branson are suing the restaurant and the suspected killer for wrongful death. A lawsuit filed in Taney County court by Krystal Buhl’s mother Debbra Keener and Charlotte Cordova, mother of Richard McMahan, claim Jones Restaurants Missouri LLC, who operate Famous Dave’s, did not provide adequate safety for their workers for a restaurant located in a dangerous location.
TCAD to host hands-only CPR class
The Rotary Club of Hollister and Taney County Ambulance District invite the public to learn to save lives through a free hands-only CPR class, hosted on June 20. The hands-only class will take place at 9 a.m. at 106 Industrial Park Drive in Hollister, and will last about an hour. According to a bulletin from the Hollister Area Chamber of Commerce, about 40 people each hour have a cardiac arrest while not in the hospital, totaling about 350,000 a year. Nine out of ten of those individuals will not survive.
