    Man arrested in Wallingford shooting incident

    WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Wallingford police arrested 41-year-old man on Friday in connection with a shooting stemming from a dispute.

    The man was identified as Donald Lubanda. He was charged with first-degree criminal attempt of assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

    Lubanda fired several rounds at an occupied vehicle after the occupants were involved in a property crime at Lubanda’s address on Parker Farms Road.

    The incident started on May 4, around 10:30 PM, when Police responded to 304 Parker Farms Road for a criminal mischief complaint. A juvenile allegedly used a BB gun to shoot out the back window of a vehicle and slash one of its tires.

    Police were informed of a dispute between the parties involved at a secondary location in town and responded to de-escalate the situation.

    The investigation showed that Lubanda had fired shots into the vehicle of the suspect in the criminal mischief complaint, striking it five times.

    Lubanda was released on a $150,000 surety bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at in Meriden on May 23 at 9:00 a.m.

    The initial incident involving the juvenile is still under investigation.
