Sunny and warmer to end the work week, cooler again for the weekend
Thursday: Some will wake up Thursday morning a tad chilly with a few 30s out there. Iron and Gogebic Counties had frost advisory in place last night. Throughout the rest of our Thursday we will have mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures! Winds will be out of the southeast between 5-10 MPH, so temperatures will still be cooler around the head of the lake and North Shore with those places generally in the 60s and lower 70s. Inland highs will climb into the 70s and 80s.
Frost Advisory for part of Northern Michigan tonight
A cold night is coming up for the Upper Peninsula. A frost advisory is in effect for tonight for Dickinson, Southern Houghton and Iron counties and interior portions of Ontonagon, Baraga, and Gogebic counties. Temperatures will drop as cold as 33 degrees in the western half of the Upper Peninsula. This means the Upper Peninsula could have a killing frost this late into the summer.

Duluth, MN- Residents will have an opportunity on June 6 to learn about upcoming construction. MnDOT will be hosting a public meeting at the Gary New Duluth Rec Center starting at 5:30 p.m. The topic of the meeting is culvert construction. Work will be done at U.S. Steel Creek and Gogebic Creek beginning in July. Detours are expected to last a few weeks. For those unable to attend, the meeting will be posted online following the meeting.

Warmer temperatures for all to close the week
WEDNESDAY: On Wednesday we will have partly sunny skies in the morning, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 60′s and 70′s with winds out of the east southeast between 5-15 MPH. That easterly component to the wind could keep us i the 50s right on the Lake Superior Shoreline. Tonight some places across the eastern half of the region could fall back into the 30s, a frost advisory has been issued for Gogebic County.

FEMA, Michigan State Police assess flooding damage in UP
REPUBLIC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Seven U.P. counties could get federal assistance for damaged infrastructure, like roads and bridges. Last month’s spring flooding caused by heavy wet snow and a rapid melt led to road wash-outs, erosion and damaged pavement. Alger, Baraga, Gogebic, Houghton, Iron, Marquette and Ontonagon could see assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). 20 to 30 sites in Marquette County received damage, including River Road in Republic Township.
