Man dies after he’s hit by car in Fayetteville, police say
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has died after being struck by a car in Fayetteville over the weekend. On May 4 around 10:25 p.m., the Fayetteville police said they responded to the area of S. Eastern Boulevard and Bell Street in reference to a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.

Fayetteville Fire Department units responded to a report of a structure fire in the 7000 block of Bronwyn Street shortly after 6 a.m. The home is located in the Scotsdale area in a neighborhood that sits between Cliffdale Road and South Reilly Road.

The bust happened when a search warrant was executed at a home in the 5200 block of Walnut Dr. in Fayetteville, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.
Victim of fatal sports bar stabbing in Spring Lake sustained injury to his heart
A Lillington man who was stabbed at a Spring Lake sports bar last week died because the knife pierced his heart, according to an affidavit in the case. Sarker Kamrul Hasan, 36, of Spring Lake, is charged with voluntary manslaughter in the April 24 death of Derek James Frerichs, 37.
Residents evacuated after construction crews cause gas leak in Fayetteville
Units from the Fayetteville Fire Department, including the hazardous materials team, were dispatched to a gas leak in Fayetteville Wednesday morning. Authorities said construction crews struck a gas line, causing the leak. Seven residences near Anona Drive have been evacuated as a precaution. Piedmont Natural Gas has been notified.
