Redfish, trout and ducks stay busy
Rather than do the same old tired "year in review" stuff lets just take a minute to celebrate the fact that if you were a fisherman or a hunter you had a pretty dang good year here locally. Easily, and without question, the best thing to happen to our area for everyone was the fact that we had no hurricanes enter the gulf this season for the first time since 2015 and that was a blessing. It wasn't long after 2015 that we began to see a decline in Sabine lake that continued as we dealt with storms, floods and record cold spells. Thankfully 2025 turned into a bright spot as we dodged all those catastrophes and the overall health of Sabine lake and the surrounding marshes improved greatly. Hopefully the momentum that we gained will continue as we flip the calendar page and welcome in 2026.
