Dinuba businesses, leaders shine at chamber awards
DINUBA – Dinuba residents and neighbors came together on a Friday evening to celebrate the successes of the business community. The Dinuba Annual Business Awards Banquet hosted by the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce on April 26 recognized the work of community leaders in the business and nonprofit sectors and honored upstanding residents as well. Valley Strong Credit Union sponsored the event at the Dinuba Memorial Hall, and attendees dressed to impress for the “black and white affair” theme.
COS Hires New Women’s Basketball Coach
The College of the Sequoias has hired a new head coach for the women’s basketball team. Tyler Newton will take over the coaching position. Newton served as head coach for the Butte College women’s basketball team for seven seasons. In his last season with the Butte Roadrunners, Newton’s team finished at 30-2. Over his seven seasons, Newton had an overall record of 119-52.

COS Men’s Baseball Season Ender
The College of the Sequoias Men’s baseball team lost their last game of the season. The Fresno City Rams beat them 30-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Giants had already faced the Rams in February and were swept in a three-game series. Up until Thursday’s loss, their biggest loss was in game three against the Rams in that February series, 25-11.
