OCEAN CITY - Southern defeated MIddle Township 3-1 on Sunday in the War at the Shore Invitational at Ocean City High School. Brooke Sutter recorded her second varsity win on the mound for the Lady Rams. She allowed five hits and one run and recorded seven strikeouts. Gabriella Cruz struck out seven in a one-hitter and drove in a sixth-inning run, as Middle Township overtook Buena, 2-1, in Cape May Court House. Buena managed one first-inning run off Cruz, who walked four batters. The Chiefs’ lead held up until the Panthers (7-6) answered with two in the sixth.
