Airplane crashes north of Lake Havasu City
LAKE HAVASU CITY —An single-engine, fixed-wing airplane crashed Thursday afternoon the desert area near the Walmart on the north side of Lake Havasu City. The Lake Havasu City Police Department was dispatched, and upon arrival it was determined the aircraft suffered from an unknown mechanical issue, according to Kyle Ridgway, public information officer for the LHCPD.
Infant hospitalized with permanent brain trauma, father in custody
LAKE HAVASU CITY — A Lake Havasu City man is in custody this week, after his 16-week-old infant was flown to a Las Vegas hospital with severe injuries. Officers were called on the morning of May 3 to a home on the 2700 block of Daytona Avenue, where reporting parties said the infant was not breathing. Police and paramedics tended to the child, who ultimately regained consciousness at the scene, and transported the infant to Havasu Regional Medical Center. According to the report, the extent of the child’s injuries required a life flight to Nevada for emergency medical care.

LAKE HAVASU CITY — The Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission is recommending approval of a preliminary plat for an affordable housing subdivision proposed about 10 miles north of the Lake Havasu City limits. Commissioners expressed some concern about infrastructure and water but voted unanimously in support of the item considered during its monthly meeting held May 8 in Kingman.
